Services:
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joel King, Ted Rush, Melvin Bayne, Jeff Rush, Bill Calhoun and Eric Donn. The family is at the home of Kristi and Chip Rush, 102 South Pond Court. Memorials may be made to the Greenwood Humane Society, PO Box 242, Greenwood, SC 29648.
Visitation:
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Obituary:
Virginia Hamilton Combs, 71, of 105 Wisteria Court, widow of Paul Combs, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at NHC Health Care Center. Born in Johnson City, TN, she was a daughter of C. H. Hamilton and the late Helen Conley Hamilton Startin. She was the retired owner and operator of Ginny’s Day Care and was a member of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving is her father of Elizabethton, TN; two daughters, Kristi Rush and her husband, Chip, of Greenwood and Shari Bowie and her husband, Johnny, of Saluda; a sister, Rita Hamilton Presnell and her husband, Charles, of Johnson City, TN; three grandchildren, Kayla Rush, Paul Wood and C. J. Rush; two step grandchildren, Michaela and Tyler Bowie and two great grandchildren, Payton and Ryan. In addition to her husband and her mother, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Yacker.
