Henrietta Bowers Henrietta Bowers, 67, of 6222 Highway 178 South, died Friday December 30, 2011 at her home. Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Ivan Samuel and Mary Ethel Rhodes Bowers. Ms. Bowers graduated from Lander College and later got her Master’s Degree at Clemson University in Elementary Education. Ms. Bowers was a teacher for the Ninety Six School District and Bells School in Walterboro, SC. Ms. Bowers taught music, was in many plays, and sang at funerals, weddings, and different civic events. She was of the Methodist Faith. Surviving are one brother, Bill Bowers, and his wife Norma Jean, of Greenwood. Also surviving are a number of special nieces and nephews, a number of great nieces and nephews, and a number of great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Betsy Leslie. There will be a Graveside Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kinard United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Danny Wiley officiating. Dear Family of Henrietta, I am so saddened for your loss. My younger daughter & I used to stay with her in 1999 a while and take care of her horses and the house. This is how I knew her. I pray for your strength and comfort throughout the years a head.
