I grew up on Wade Avenue...just down the road from Ms. Gambrell. I thought of her as another Grandmother when I was little. She was always such a beautiful and sweet lady! I have thought of her often over the years since she moved. I hate that we lost touch. I always loved her name-Zoe- so much that I named my youngest daughter Zoey! : ) Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. May God Bless you all!

Martha, Barney, Tommy, and Family: I am so very sadened to hear of the death of my precious friend, Zoe. I can't tell you how much her friendship meant to me during the six years we were at Mt. Lebanon. We had such wonderful times laughing and sometimes crying together in the choir. I will always treasure those memories. Your family is and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers thoughout the coming days. May God Bless you!

To Zoe's Family, It is with sadness and joy that I write these words. I saw Zoe in December when I was in Greenwood visiting mom, Frances Templeton, her good friend and next door neighbor. She was sleeping on the couch, rather restlessly, and I sat across the room not wanting to disturb her. But, I had come to see her so I said, "Wake up old lady!" She sat up and said, "Lynn, come here" and we started laughing. We hugged and kissed like we ususally did whenever we saw each other. We spoke of many things, and I told her that I would see her in March when I visited mom again, but if I didn't see her then, I would see her in Heaven. I knew March would not come for Zoe, but I also knew she was not afraid of death and told me she was ready when the Lord called her. We would always end our visits, whether at mom's home or her's, with those powerful three words, "I love you." Lynn & Jim Lindsey Nashville, TN

Dear Martha and Family I was so sorry to hear about Zoe's death. What a true southern lady she was! I've known her since I was about 18 and I just had my 60th birthday. I truly did love her and tried to get by there after I found out she was sick. But, as you know, my own mother was injured pretty badly and things have been chaotic to say the least. Please accept my sincere sympathy at this time. I pray that God's peace and comfort come upon you at this sad time. We will be praying now for you all just like we prayed for her. If I can be of help to you during this time, please call on me. God bless you. Sherryl Brown
