Betty Burroughs Harvley, 78, wife of Otis Harvley, Jr., died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Hospice House.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Edward and Frances Simpson Burroughs. She and Otis celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on the day of her death. Together they owned Harvley's Water Hole, where the customers all respectfully referred to her as Ms. Betty. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband of the home; three sons, Wayne Harvley (Debbie) of Donalds, Mark Harvley and Steve Harvley (Dorothy), both of Greenwood; two sisters, Mae Price of Waterloo and Shelby Jean Jones of Greenwood; her aunt, Peggy Burroughs of Hodges; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Delores Rapp officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Travis Harvley, Lee Harvley, Eddie Price, Don Heirs, Danny Burroughs, Ricky Dill, Bret Harvley and Nathan Knight.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. with the service following.
