Charles L. �Chuck� Lewis, 81, of 938 Marshall Street, beloved husband of Betty Umstead Lewis, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Memphis, TN, he was the son of the late Herbert Lewis and Emma Jennings Bryan. Chuck retired from the U. S. Army as a Master Sargant and was of the Protestant faith. He loved cooking, music and working in his yard. He was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Laura Spires. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a son, Mark Stephen Lewis of Greenwood; two sisters, Bettye Jean Smith of Memphis, TN and Harriett C. Baker of Buchanan, TN; many nieces and nephews of whom he adored as his own; and honorary grandchildren, Courtney, Jason, Hope, Melody and Grace Holloway.
