Claude J. Butler, 89, of McCormick, was reunited with his wife and two sons in heaven on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
Born on November 2, 1928 in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Oscar and Sudie Wideman Butler. On June 5th 1948 he married the love of his life, Jacqueline Norman Butler. They were happily married for seventy years. Claude worked at "Big Mac Tire" for many years. He enjoyed fishing in Santee and Clarks Hill Lake. Claude was a member of Greenwood Bass Masters and Rebel Bass Clube. He loved music and everyone he met. Claude was a loving, faithful member of Buffalo Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, Claude Ray Butler and Gary Lynn Butler.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Kathryne "Kitty" Percival Butler of McCormick; a dedicated and loving grandson, Claude Byron Butler and his wife, Marie Katherine Jermov Butler of Pinckney, Michigan; a sister, Sue Finch; and a brother, J. D. Butler, both of Greenwood.
Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at Buffalo Baptist Church with the Rev. Ryan Eklund officiating. Burial will be in McCormick City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 10 -10:45 am
