Obituary

Elbert Earl Harrison, 88, of 521 Bolt Avenue, widower of Rachel Godfrey Harrison, died Friday, February 28, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Elbert Clifton and Emma Leona Culbertson Harrison. Elbert retired from Duke Power after 26 years as an electrical engineer and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 121st Infantry 8th Division, Company C. He was a member of the American Legion Post 20, D.A.V. #8141, and Mathews Lodge A.F.M. Surviving are a daughter, Deborah H. �Debbie� Callison (Pete) of Lincolnton, NC; a son, Perry �Pete� Harrison (Kathy) of McDonough, GA; a daughter-in-law, Pat Harrison Colquitt (Kenneth) of Griffin, GA; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Honorary escort will be the Willing Workers Sunday school class and retirees of Duke Power. Memorials may be made to Mathews United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 2066 Greenwood, SC 29646. The family is at the home.
