Helen Virginia Black Belue, 103 (4 months) of 97 Kitson Street, Ninety Six, widow of Jean S. Belue, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Hospice House.
Born in Honea Path, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Brinnie Cothran Black. She retired from Greenwood Mills, Ninety Six Plant, after fifty years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was also a former member of Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Cambridge United Methodist Church, where she worked with the Junior Department for a number of years.
Surviving are her children, Frances Belue Pratt (Ron) of Ninety Six and Jeannie Belue Emory (Mel) of Lancaster; a brother Guy Black (Marcelle) of Honea Path; grandchildren, Christopher Pratt (Tracie) of Columbia, Andrew Pratt (Mandy) of Bueford, GA., Lyn Emory of Fort Knoxville, KY., Steve Emory (Amy) of Angier, NC., Jonathan Pratt of Hodges, and Ronald F. Pratt (Adriene) of Ninety Six; and twelve great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Smythe officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Cambridge United Methodist Church, 201 Kitson St, Ninety Six, SC 29664 or to the Hospice House, 408 W Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
