Joel B. McDowell, 69, of 252 W. Main Street, Ninety Six, SC, husband of Sherilene Isbell McDowell died Friday, April 6, 2018 at his home.

Born in Edgefield, he was a son of Sophie Cockrell McDowell and the late Bernard McDowell. He retired from Greenwood Mills, Compound and later worked for US Security at Fuji. Mr. McDowell was a member of Calvary Holiness Tabernacle.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home and mother of Ninety Six are his children Lisa Berry (Lavern) of Saluda, Sandy Belt of Ninety Six, Wendy Bice (Bobby) of Greenwood, and Joel McDowell (Anne Marie) of Ninety Six; brothers, Brooks McDowell (Margaret) of Ninety Six and Sammy McDowell (Vickie) of Greenwood; grandchildren, Joseph Murray, Jonathan Murray, Justin Murray, Micheal McDowell, Kailyn McDowell, Brady McDowell, Courtney Bice, Will Bice, and Matthew Berry; and eight great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carlos Fincannon, Rev. Johnny Waller, and Rev. Mark Fincannon officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Murray, Jonathan Murray, Justin Murray, Micheal McDowell, Michael Isbell, Johnny Cockrell, and Wayne Isbell.

The family will receive friends before the service from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
