Sara Swancey Kunkle, 96, of 6914 Highway 246 South, Ninety Six, widow of Willie Lee Kunkle, died Monday, April 24, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Ninety Six, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Lila Horne Swancey. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Sara was a faithful member of Cambridge United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her daughter, Joe Ann Kunkle of the home; two grandsons, Mike Kunkle (LeeAnn) of Belton and Travis Kunkle (Michelle) of Honea Path; great grandchildren, Kirsten and Kaleb Brock of Belton, Austin Kunkle of Ninety Six, Magan and Justin Kunkle, Justin Ashley and Tyler Davis, all of Honea Path and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Charles E. "Mick" Kunkle.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cambridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Smyth officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Neil Womack, Scott Hatcher, Max Hatcher, Tyler Davis, Austin Kunkle and Justin Kunkle.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.
