Denny Ray Marlar, 72, of 718 McCoy Road, Ware Shoals, husband of Linda Sulton Marlar, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at his home.

Born in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Luther Junior Marlar and Margert Nelson Marlar Moss. Denny was retired from Davey Tree Service and attended Ninety Six Congregational Holiness Church. He enjoyed many activities outdoors; loved his dogs; and most importantly loved and was loved deeply by his family. Denny was passionate about serving the Lord and spreading His word.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Linda, of the home are his children, Christie Flemming (Dale) of Waterloo, Bobby Marlar of Greenwood, Anthony Marlar (Angela) of Ware Shoals, and Tisha Hill (Robbie) of Donalds; sisters, Lola Gary of Anderson and Patricia Moss of Woodruff; brother, Eugene Green of Ware Shoals; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

A private service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum with the Rev. Yvonne Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory.

The family will be at the home.
