Randy May

June 13, 1947 - May 3, 2022

Eugene Randall May, 74, of Waterloo, husband of Mary Wrenn May, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Clarence May, Jr. and Mary Parks May. Randy retired from Greenwood School District where he worked maintenance and was a mason. He enjoyed riding his golf cart around the neighborhood visiting his neighbors and was a friend to all. Randy had a strong faith and loved telling others about the Lord. He was a former member of Bethlehem Union Church for 34 years where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, Helping Hand Ministries, music and youth minister along with helping with the church maintenance. Randy was a current member of Shade Tree Revival Church where he was in the music ministry. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne May. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his sons, Tim May (Autumn) and Tony May (Moriah) both of Waterloo; two sisters, Betty Jo Weaghington (Sambo) and Ann Earnhardt (Steve) both of Greenwood; a brother, Doodle May (Bonnie) of Monticello, KY; grandchildren, Chris May, Bethni May, Hunter May, Chloe May; great grandchildren, Kendall May, Lilly May, Kexin Eaton and Oryn Webb; and a nephew who was more like a grandson, Ethan Clark. Services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday at Bethlehem Union Church with the Rev. Grady Lothridge and Rev. James Nix officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 1-2 pm. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, www.donate.lovetotherescue.org.
