Ruby Holladay

October 8, 1931 - April 27, 2022

Ruby Jane Irvin Holladay, 90, of 1212 Ninety Six Highway, widow of Horace Everett Holladay, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at her home. Born in Rutherford, NC, she was a daughter of the late Homer Eldridge Irvin and Willie Horn Irvin. She retired from Greenwood Mills, Sloan Plant. Mrs. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family and church family. She loved to talk to anyone and everyone, trying all types of different foods, and taking leisurely walks. Mrs. Ruby was a member of Siloam Baptist Church, where she volunteered transporting those not able back and forth to church services and events. For the past three years she has attended Grace Community Church, where she was gladly welcomed. Surviving are her children, Donnis Holladay Kelley (Michael) of Florida and Teresa Holladay Kelly (Michael) of Greenwood; sisters, Nellie McNeilly and Vergia Strange; brothers, Thomas Irvin, James Jones, Ray Jones, and Nathan Jones; grandchildren, Chris Kelley, Matthew Kelley (Jessica), Jennifer Cathcart (Brad), Joseph Kelly (Mary), Jessica Mota (Yoni), Angela Holladay (Tony) and Kimberly Ramsey (Kevin); and great grandchildren, Matthew, Jr., Kayla, Grace, Christina, Benjamin, Jonah, Logan, Masyn, Serenity, Kharman, and Kameron. In addition to her husband, Horace she was preceded in death by a son, C.J. Holladay; sisters, Martha Blanton and Lillie Irvin; and brothers, Walter Horn, Marion Irvin, and Pinkey Irvin. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at Elmwood Cemetery with Pastor Rod Schultz officiating. Pallbearers will be Joey, Ben, and Jonah Kelly and Brad Cathcart.
