Arthur L. Lee, 85, husband of Vivadean Spencer Lee, died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Hospice House.
Born in Okeechobee, FL, he was a son of the late Lynn K. Lee and Estelle Cason Alford. He was formerly employed as a police officer with the Ft. Pierce Police Department, retired as a special agent from CSX Railroad and worked for Hunters Headquarters for many years following his retirement. Mr. Lee was a founding member of the Three Bowman Archery Club in 1967. He won countless state and regional titles and won the National Field Archery Association's outdoor national title in the men's open freestyle limited division, making him the first person from South Carolina to win a national title. Mr. Lee was inducted into the SC Archery Association Hall of Fame on July 30, 2016.
He was a member of Mathews Lodge #358 A.F.M. and First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of the home; his children, Sharon Warner (George) of Greenwood, Lisa Hagwood (Jim) of Charlotte, NC, Arthur Ray Lee (Estela E. Lee) of Greenwood and Barbara Rutherford (Sonny) of Augusta, GA; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Lee and his brother, Donald Lee.
Services will be at 12 noon on Tuesday at First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryant Sims officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons - Spencer Warner, A. J. Hagwood, Joseph Castillo, Graham Wright, Warner Wright, Myles Eckel and Kyle Brodd.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
