Obituary

Rev. Aaron Lamar "Butch " Carithers, 67, of 207 Benjamin Street, husband of Rhonda Duckworth Carithers, died Monday, July 20, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Calhoun Falls, he was the son of the late Charlie and Virginia Burnett Carithers. Butch was a member of Ninety Six Church of God and was the Associate Pastor at Emerald City Church of God. He also coached the Ninety Six Church of God Softball Team. Surviving are his wife of the home; a daughter, Stephanie Helmuth (Arlyn) of Greenwood; a sister, Barbara Walkup of Abbeville; and two grandchildren, Austin Collins and Isaiah Helmuth. Pallbearers will be Rev. Bobby Davis, Keith McIntosh, Paul Brown, Keith Banks, Charles Slack, Dennis Horne, Scott Masterson, and Greg Holladay. Honorary escort will be the men of Ninety Six Church of God. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the account of Rev. Aaron Carithers, c/o Harley Funeral Home and Crematory, PO Box 777, Greenwood, SC 29648. The family is at the home of his daughter, Stephanie Helmuth, 206 Pinsonville Road, Greenwood.
