Aaron Calvin Smart, 74, of 317 Round About Way, Ware Shoals, husband of Juanita Morgan Smart, died Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Leesburg, FL, he was a son of the late Joseph Brown and Vera Lanier Bishop Smart. He was one of the founding members and Vice President of the American Legion in Lake Dallas, TX; a former member of the Moose Lodge in Greenwood; and a lifetime member of the VFW in Lake Dallas, TX. Mr. Smart was also a US Marine Corp Veteran, where he served during Vietnam.

Mr. Smart was a loving husband, brother, and father. He had many lifelong friends and often told stories of his time with friends and family. As a Pop-Pop, he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved sharing time and experiences with his grandchildren, teaching them how to have fun and find adventure in this world. His smile and laughter will be greatly missed.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Sharon Marie Smart of Flower Mound, TX and Aaron Smart (Gwen) of Ware Shoals; sister, Joyce Smart Womack (Berns) of Ware Shoals; brother, James Edward Smart of Ramsuer ,NC; grandchildren, Noel Simmons (Travis), Katelyn Smart, and Ashtyn Amos (Alan); and great grandchildren, Kimberley Smith, Peyton Smith, Evan Smith, and Westlyn Loggins.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
