Leland Abney Coleman, 72, of Greenwood, husband of Terri Dellinger Coleman, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Leland Abney Coleman and Helen Youngblood Coleman. Abney was a 1970 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 1974 graduate of Lander College where he was a member of the Pi Kippa Phi fraternity. He started his career at the Bank of Hodges and Countybank before he formed his own business, Piedmont Landscaping. Abney thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and riding his Harley Davidson. He attended South Main Baptist Church and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by brother, Jimmy Coleman.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 47 years are a son, Abney Coleman, IV of Greenwood; his four legged fur baby, Griffin; fur baby grandson, Zeke; sister, Carol Coleman Sanders (Stephan) of Greenwood; sister-in-law, Toni Dellinger Justus (Donny); brother-in-law, Chip Dellinger (Tamra), both of Ninety Six; nieces and nephews: Ross Sanders (Taylor), Chip Justus (Jessica), Chad Dellinger (Katie), Casey Tipps (Austin) and Carly Caballero (Gian); and several great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Harley Family Center from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
