Allen Wayne Barbare, 57, husband of Cindy Pryor Barbare, died Monday, July 9, 2018, at Hospice House.

Born in Greer, he was a son of the late Marion and Myrtice Weisner Barbare. He was a graduate of Wofford College and received his Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Allen was the Crisis Shelter Programs Director at Connie Maxwell Children's Home. He had also worked for the Department of Social Services in Laurens and Anderson and at Piedmont Technical College and John de la Howe. Allen was active at Connie Maxwell Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and was a member of the praise band.

He is survived by his wife of the home and two sisters, Patti Walker (Geoff) of Columbia and Nancy Castle (Delmas) of Owenton, KY.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Connie Maxwell Baptist Church, 215 Terrell Smith Avenue, Greenwood, SC, with the Rev. Miller Murphy officiating. A private burial will be held prior to the service.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
