Obituary

Allie Mae Blum Hazel. 88, formerly of 105 Hudson Street, widow of Joe Daniel Hazel, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Kirkland Blum and Maggie Lou Scott. Allie worked for Greenwood Mills for 40 years and retired as a trainer in the Training Center. She was in the Quarter Century Club and a member of Harris Baptist Church where she was in the Willing Workers Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Tolbert; and two brothers, Harold Blum and Leroy Blum. Surviving are two sons, Marvin D. (Charlene) Hazel and Joe (Johnette) Hazel; two daughters, Shirley Harrison and Joyce (Alan) Todd; a brother Kirkland (Bertha) Blum; a sister, Frances (Ned) Scott all of Greenwood; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jody Hazel, Gerald Ned Scott, Gene Tolbert, Jimmy Tolbert, Dalton Key, Brandon Oakley, Danny Hazel and John Nave. The family is at the home of Joyce and Alan Todd, 210 Burnett Road, Greenwood, SC.
