Amy Denise Hastings Owensby, 51, of Greenwood, widow of Clifton "Cliff" Wade Owensby passed away February 16th 2023 at Self Regional Healthcare.

Amy was a graduate of Greenwood High School and worked with Eaton. Throughout her career Amy was a hard worker who always had a ready smile and a helping hand for others.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Gwen Boone, and a nephew, Haynes Morrow.

Surviving is her son, Zak Owensby; father, James "Buddy" Hastings, Jr. and stepmother, Vickie; sister, Beth Morrow and husband, Trey; nephews, Andrew and Ben Morrow; and stepparents, Joyce and Marion Boone.

Amy loved time spent with her aunts Patsy, Shirley, Tric and all her cousins on her father's side.
She remained close to her mother and father-in-law, Norma Jean and James "Jimmy" Owensby. Cliff's brothers Gary, Woody, Scotty and their spouses were dear to Amy as well.
On October 14th, 1984 Amy was baptized in Lake Greenwood along with her mother and sister. Amy and Cliff were members of New Life Baptist Church during their teenage and young adult years. They were active in Sunday School and Youth Programs there.
Even though Amy had not been in church in recent years, her love for Jesus never wavered. She truly had a servant's heart and a sweet spirit.
Amy's most treasured role in life was being a Mom to her son Zak. Amy was a great Mom!

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25th at Emerald Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig McDaniel officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
