Barbara Ann Riley Beshers, 81, of Belton, widow of James Carroll Beshers, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024 at NHC of Anderson surrounded by her family.
Born in Greenwood, on October 21, 1942, she was a daughter of the late David Marion Riley and Marian Eisenman Riley.
Known for her 51 years of dedicated service as a newspaper carrier for the Index Journal, Ann's warm and compassionate nature extended beyond her profession. Family always came first for her, and she was cherished for being an amazing mother and grandmother. Ann's love for animals, particularly her way with cats, was well-known, and her green thumb brought life and beauty to her surroundings.
Ann found comfort in her faith, nature, and her community. She was a former member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, but cherished attending Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Her love for the Lord and His creations was evident in every aspect of her life. She found particular joy in the company of geese and swans.
In addition to her dedication to her family and work, Ann enjoyed the simpler things in life. From her love for trinkets and bright Christmas decorations to her enjoyment of bowling and playing bingo, she embraced each moment with joy.
She is survived by her children, David Davis, Heath Davis (Dottie), and Lee Ann Kunkle (Mike); two stepchildren, James R. Beshers and Kenneth Beshers; grandchildren, Tyler Davis (Angela), Kelsey Edmisten (Jacob), Justin Davis (Tasha), Riley Davis, Anna Brooke Davis, Ethan Davis, Kirsten Hembree (Matthew), and Kaleb Brock; and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Riley and fur baby, Marla.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chad Moore officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
