Ann Carruth Sprouse, 86, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Born in Hartwell, GA, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Johnnie Mae Thompson Carruth. Ann spent her life dedicated to nurturing and caring for young children, retiring from Emerald Day Care, where she taught the two-year old class and was formerly employed by Small World Day Care. She was a member of Woodfields Baptist Church, where she received a certificate for 30 years of teaching the 5th-6th grade Sunday School class and worked with Mission Friends on Wednesday nights.

Surviving are her children, Bobby Sprouse (Nancy), Kenny Sprouse (Linda), Sherri Hughes (Jimmy), John Sprouse and Chuck Sprouse (Cindy); sisters, Carol Ricks and Jane Wicker, brother, Dean Carruth (Brenda); eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and a niece and special caregiver, Angie Carruth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy Carruth, Jack Carruth, Ed Carruth and Larry Carruth and a sister, Betty Carruth Alewine.

Services will be held at 3pm on Sunday at Ninety Six First Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating. A private burial will be held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2 - 3 p.m.

The family is at the home of Bobby and Nancy Sprouse, 103 Bent Creek Road, Greenwood.
