Anna Elizabeth Kaufman Evans, 89, of 1110 Marshall Road and resident of Caldwell, NJ for more than 50 years, widow of Albert Edwin Evans, died Monday, December 20, 2010. Born in Newark, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Kalman and Katherine Bruner Kaufman. She retired as a secretary from the West Essex Regional School District and had also been employed by the Red Cross Chapter House, Caldwell, NJ and Lewis Studios, Fairfield, NJ. Anna was married to her loving husband for 67 years and was a beloved mother and wife. She was very involved in the community of Caldwell, NJ, was active in Girl Scout leadership and her garden club. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed her gardening. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greenwood and was a 1985 graduate of the Lay Academy of Ministry, Bethel Bible Series through First Presbyterian Church, Caldwell, NJ. She was a longtime member and Elder of Roseland Presbyterian Church, Roseland, NJ. Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Evans of Boulder, CO and Susan Evans LeWine and her husband, Howard, of Duxbury, MA; a son, Albert E. Evans and his wife, Jill, of Salem, SC; a brother, John K. Kaufman of Madison, NJ; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
