Annie Ruth Ayers, 91, of Dukes Avenue, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 17, 2021.
Born in Greenwood, September 24, 1930, she is a daughter of the late Judson Freeman Ayers, Sr. and Viola Pitts Ayers. After graduating Greenwood High School, she attended Carson Newman College and became a nurse. She served out her career as a pediatric nurse. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church, where she devoted her free time to learning, teaching, and leading others to the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Judson Freeman Ayers, Jr. and her sister, Jean Rymer.
Surviving is her son, David Brooks (Kristina) of Fountain Inn; grandchildren, Cameron, Addison, and Stoddard Brooks; six nieces and nephews, Bill Rymer (Terry), Betsy Rymer (Reed), John Rymer (Jeannie), Jill Marchant, Heidi Ayers (Tim), and Judson Ayers III (Carol); fifteen great nieces and nephews, Janna, Adam, Ashley, Melissa, Jennifer, Daniel, Josh, Rebekah, Joel, Cannon, Gracen, Landon, Andrew, Nathaniel, and Padraig; nine great great nieces and nephews, Xander, Brooklyn, Max, Finley, Noah, Gracie, Daniel, Forrest, and Cooper; and special friends Johnny and Carla Blaxton.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Kyle Richter officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Stoddard Brooks, Johnny Blaxton, Jacob Cole, Lee Perkins, Landon Marchant, and Cannon Marchant.
