Obituary

Annie Jo McKerley Moseley, 83, of 2209 Scotts Ferry Road, widow of Carl Daniel Moseley, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Born in Woods Bend, AL, she was a daughter of the late William Butler McKerley and Tressie Elizabeth Roberts McKerley. Mrs. Moseley received her LPN degree and worked as a seamstress in the carpet manufacturing industry. Annie was the first female cab driver in Greenwood at The Yellow Cab Company and also worked for Checker Cab Company in Atlanta. She attended Restoration Ministries. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Robert Alexander; a sister, Mary Pruitt; and three brothers, William McKerley, Robert McKerley and Horton McKerley. Surviving are three daughters, Martha Jo (Bobby Lee) Roberts, Shirley Lucille (Buddy) Partain and Freida Gail (Steve) Crawford, all of Ninety Six; three sons, James Robert (Patricia) Alexander, Jr. of Greenwood, John Henry (Donna) Alexander and Jeffery Dale Alexander, both of Ninety Six; three sisters, Ruby Chestnut of Covington, TN, Barbara Purdy of Lula, GA and Doris Elizabeth Gregory of Eatonton, GA; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tim Whatley, John Alexander, Jr., Dereck Dubois, Sam Burkett, William Purdy and Ricky Purdy. The family is at the home of her daughter, Martha Roberts, 2211 Scotts Ferry Road, Ninety Six.
