Arline Gertrude Ouzts, 97, widow of Jack E. Ouzts, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at The Blake at Carnes Crossroads in Summerville, South Carolina.
Born Queens, NY, she was a daughter of the late Charles Krizek and Theresa Wepner Krizek. She was a manager for the department store, Gimbels in Pennsylvania and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. Arline was an accomplished cook, gardener, and talented artist, who created many beautiful ceramic figurines over the years. She also enjoyed reading and playing cards and was active in her local senior centers. Mainly, however, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother (GiGi), who brought much joy to her family.
She is survived by her children, Carlton Ouzts (Anne) and Jacqueline Shogan (Mark Faurie); daughter-in-law, Linda Ouzts; grandchildren, Alyson Knill (Van), Derrick Ouzts (Andrea), Jeffrey Shogan, and Jack Shogan; stepchildren grandchildren, David Williams (Cindy) and Keith Williams (Spring); great grandchildren, Briella Ouzts, Brantley Ouzts, Garrett Knill, and Cole Knill; and step grandchildren, Skyla Williams and Paisley Williams.
In addition to her parents, Theresa and Charles and husband, Jack she was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Ouzts.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
