Arthur Allen Smith, 91, of 201 Morgan Avenue, widower of Annie Mae Anderson Smith, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Lewis Walter Smith and Lizzie Jane Weeks Smith. Arthur was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and retired from Greenwood Mills-Plant #5. He was of the Pentecostal faith, a member of a Pentecostal String Band in the 1950�s � 1960�s, and Sunshine band through 1990 -2000. Surviving are his children, Jerry Lee Smith (Esther) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Peggy Ziegler (Tony) of Easton, MN, Martha Stewart (Dr. Donald Williams) of Reidville, Dorothy Johnson (Henry) of Greenwood and Samuel Arthur Smith (Mary) of Kings Mtn., NC; two sisters, Lunette Gibson of Ware Shoals and Helen Jernigan of Greenwood; two brothers, Walter Smith of Hodges and Leroy Smith of Greenwood; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, June Nabors; four sisters, Ellen Worthington, Virginia Harvley, Evelyn Worthington, and Ruby Stamps; and two brothers, Thomas Smith and Ralph Smith. The family members are at their respective homes.
