Augusta Marie Pratt Walker, 79, of 213 Duncan Avenue, widow of James R. �Slim� Walker, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at her home. Born in Durham, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rosa Lee Pratt Walker. Augusta retired from Greenwood Mills and was a member of Durst Avenue Church of God. She was preceded in death by two children, Jessie May Walker and Mary Jane Walker. Surviving are her two children, John Roy Walker and Rose Marie Walker, both of the home. Special thanks to nurse, Jamie Bowland for her special care. Pallbearers will be Brett Stackhouse, J. W. Walker, Wayne Brown, Nick Nicholson, Brian Andrews and Dale Boyd. The family is at the home.
