Barbara Jean "BJ" Glanton, 88, resident of Greenwood, loving wife of Gene F. Glanton passed away September 16, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.
Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Inez Adams.
She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was formerly employed by A&P, The Vogue, McCaslan's Book Store and Winn Dixie. She was a member of Rehoboth Methodist Church. Barbara will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her passion for gardening, and her unwavering support of the Clemson Tigers.
In addition to her husband of 71 years, she is survived by daughter, Sharron Reeder and son, Craig Glanton (Kelly) both of Greenwood; sisters, Annette West and Elsie Gary; grandchildren, Derek Reeder (Ellyn), Stacey Mabrey (Frankie), Kaitlin Glanton, and Grayson Glanton; great grandchildren, Andrew, Mason, Quynn, Gaige, Kayden and Collyn; and several nieces and nephews who felt more like her children.
Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by sisters Jennie Perry and Frances Harrison; and brothers, Homer "Buddy" Adams and James Adams.
A service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Harley Funeral Home chapel officiated by Reverend Zach Metts. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends before the service at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rehoboth Methodist Church, 1808 Callison Hwy, Greenwood, SC 29646.
