Barbara Crout �Toots� Herndon, 77, of Pineridge Apartments, wife of Al Herndon, died Monday, October 8, 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Holland and Leah Willette Clark Crout. She was the retired owner and operator of The Furniture House and attended Grace Community Church. Surviving is her husband; a son, John P. McDowell of Greenwood; two daughters, Maxine Brown of Greenwood and Wanda Wammock of Lincolnton, GA; two brothers, George Crout of Greenwood and Hermas Crout of Chattanooga, TN; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Crout.
