Obituary
Barbara Ann Johnson passed away peacefully January 20, 2021 at Wesley Commons Healthcare Center, in Greenwood. SC.
She was born on February 6, 1930 in Duluth Minnesota to the late Walter and Lillian Paleen. Barbara was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin where she majored in Physical Education and taught at several Milwaukee High Schools.
She married the late Rodney Johnson in September of 1955. In 1987, they retired to South Carolina and enjoyed their time together golfing, traveling, boating and with friends. They enjoyed coming to Vermont in the summer to their cottage on Lake Champlain. Barbara loved her time spent with her grandkids and fishing both from shore or out in her fishing boat. In later years, she moved into the Wesley Commons Retirement Community in Greenwood, SC.
Barbara is survived by her son, Chuck Johnson and his wife Brenda of Vermont; grandchildren, Ben Johnson and his wife Karrinne, Jennifer Urban and her husband Loren, Corey Hutchins and his wife Kendra, Wendy Hutchins, Reyvan Hanlon and her fiancé Dan Geisweit; six great grandchildren, Felicity, Finn, Addie and Kolbe Johnson, Jordan and Jacob Hutchins; and a brother, William Paleen of Pennsylvania.
In addition to her husband, Barbara was predeceased by a son, Paul and her brother, Walter Paleen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Vermont.
