Barbara Jane Hanvey Phillips, 69, of 568 Bobwhite Drive, Waterloo, wife of Roy "Skipper" Phillips, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Horace H. and Essie Tollison Hanvey. Barbara loved playing bingo at North Side BINGO, fishing, and going to the beach. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are her children, Wendell Phillips (Tracy) of Taylors, William Phillips of Waterloo, Wanda Johnson (Gaines) of Kirksey, and Kaylyn Phillips of the home; a sister Jeanette Davis (Ken) of Greenwood; brothers, Ernest Hanvey (Mary Ann) of Greenville, Ronnie Hanvey (Belinda) of Pickens, Roger Hanvey (Cindy) of Dacusville, and Carl Hanvey of Greenville; grandchildren, Timothy Phillips, William Phillips, and Kayla Rodgers (Allen Rodgers); and two great grandchildren, Stephen Rodgers and Keith Rodgers.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at New Life Baptist Church with the Rev. Bud Tumblin officiating.

The family will receive friends follow the service.
