Barney Lee Brooks, 81, of 2713 County Line Road, Bradley, widow of Evelyn Beulah Laughlin Brooks, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Whiteville, NC. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Horace Leroy and Annie Mae Hart Brooks. He was retired from Greenwood Mills and attended Bold Spring Baptist Church. Surviving is his sister, Katherine Brooks of Bradley; two brothers, Leon Brooks and Wayne Brooks, both of Bradley and a special nephew, Michael Lee Smith of Tabor City, NC. He was preceded in death by brothers, Horace Brooks, DeWitt Brooks and Barron Brooks.
