Bayard Stewart Lindell, Jr., 83, of 234 Irvines Circle, husband of Patricia Jones Lindell died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at his home.

Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Bayard Stewart Lindell, Sr. and Ethel Grier Lindell. He was a graduate of Erskine College and began his career at J. C. Penney Co., later moving to Belk and retiring from there after a 30-year career. He was a US Army Veteran, stationed in Korea. Bayard was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir, the Genesis to Revelations Sunday School Class, and served on the Member Care Committee. He was a long-time member of the Rotary Club. Bayard loved his church, his family, writing poems, and making people laugh with his great sense of humor.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 60 years are his children, B. Stewart Lindell, III (Lynette) of Abbeville, Susan Rush (Randy) of Lexington and Jennifer Lindell of Greenwood; and grandchildren, Colton Lindell, Nathan Rush, Matthew Rush, and Ross Cobb.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Main Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Rush and Pastor James McCoy-Bruce officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Family members will be at their respective homes.
