Bennie Killingsworth Ridgeway (Finethy) Dietrichsen, formerly of Ninety Six and Greenwood, SC, was born January 5, 1945 and died after a lengthy illness on November 19, 2019 at Springfield Place in Newberry, SC.
A drum major and graduate of Ware Shoals High School, Bennie went on to Lander College, where she earned degrees in nursing and psychology. She served her community as a school nurse in Ninety Six, but devoted the majority of her career as an instructor at Piedmont Technical College, guiding and mentoring others into the nursing profession and was inducted into the Mu Zeta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society as a community leader. In 2002, she was awarded the Presidential Medallion of Piedmont Technical College, honoring her dedication and service to students, the community and the College. Bennie retired in 2004, with the love, gratitude and respect of many graduates.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Lamar; her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Grace Lamar Killingsworth Ridgeway and granddaughter, Halle.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Camille and Jaime Regal of 5 Sandy Creek Road, Savannah, GA 31410; grandchildren, Asher and Jasia, cousins and dear friends.
