Bennie Ray Williams, 72, of 120 Liberty Street, husband of Virginia Kitchens Williams, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Bennie Claude Williams and Lavinia Williams. Bennie was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korea Conflict and was in the National Guard. He retired from Ethridge Monument Company and was a member of First Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Bennie loved spending time with his family, fishing and being outdoors. He was a former member of Greenwood Bassmasters. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are three daughters, Sherry (Robert) Vines of Greenwood, Sandy (Dan) Traynham of Hodges and Janet (Tony) Busby of Harlem, GA; a sister, Jeanette Lell of Greenwood; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brent Bell, Clay Werts, Tim Williams, Chris Williams, Charlie Williams and Doug Neal. The family is at the home.
