Betty Bassett Gillis Haney, 92, of Greenwood, SC, widow of Bernard Joseph "Joe" Haney, died Friday, December 28, 2018 at Hospice House.
Born in Compass Lake, FL, she was a daughter of the late Blake and Hattie Williford Bassett. She retired from Civil Service at Maxwell Air Force Base, AL, after 35 years of service and was a member of Thorington Road Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernese Jones Monas and Edna Branning Williams; her brother, John William "Bill" Bassett and her beloved nephew, Gregory Bassett Jones.
She is survived by her niece, Anne McClendon Jones, with whom she made her home and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Veterans National Cemetery, Montevallo, AL.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m.
