Obituary

Betty Mayson Haupfear, 80, of 451 B Grace Street, widow of Raymond Lee Haupfear, Sr., died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late James M. Helen Lagrone Mayson. She was retired from K-Mart as the advertising manager and a member of Tranquil United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her sons, Raymond (Randy) L. Haupfear, Jr. (Kathy) of Warenville, SC, Art Haupfear (Sharon) of Cumming, GA, and Robbie Haupfear (Farrah) of Laurens, SC; a daughter, Pam McElroy (Richburg) of Swansea, SC; a sister, Janie M. Lewis (Calvin) of Greenwood; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tony Haupfear.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shawn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Coronaca.

Pallbearers will be Ben Haupfear, Chris Lewis, Chris McElroy, and Roger Smith.

The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Tranquil United Methodist Church, 1702 McCormick Highway, Greenwood, SC 29646.
