Betty Fox Scott, 83 formerly of 416 Willard Road, Greenwood, widow of Walter Roy Scott, died on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at NHC of Greenwood.
Born on September 4, 1932 in Aiken, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Henry Fox, Sr., and Salley Mae Cook Fox. Betty she retired from Greenwood Mills-Sloan Plant where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Betty loved the Lord and attended the Faith Home where she was an active supporter for many years and was known by everyone there as the "Candy Lady". Mrs. Scott was the original picker and loved yard sales. "If the asking price was a dollar, she would buy it for a dime and then sell it for two dollars".
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia Fox, Mildred Wren and Elva Lee Bearden; and four brothers, M. H. Fox, Jr., Marion Fox, Harvey Fox and Odell Fox. Betty was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are sons, Henry Scott of Ninety Six, Wallace Scott, and his wife, Frances, of Anderson and Lamar Scott of Greenville; two daughters, Patricia Butler, and her husband, James, and Brenda Brooks and her husband, Roy, all of Greenwood; seventeen grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
