Bettye B. Tumblin, 73, of 116 Clark Avenue, wife of the Rev. A. L. "Bud" Tumblin, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, May 20, 2016 while surrounded by her family, who she loved dearly.
Born in Baton Rouge, LA, Bettye was the daughter of the late Thomas "Tom" and Evelyn Collins Beauford. She received her registered nursing degree from Anderson College and worked with Dr. Otis Devore of Honea Path for many years.
Bettye was a member of New Life Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as the church clerk. She loved and cherished her church family.
Surviving is her husband of the home; two daughters, Angel Hastings (Mike) of Abbeville and Kathy Jennings of Greenwood; two sons, Tommy Tumblin and Al Tumblin (Jennifer), both of Greenwood; five grandchildren, who she loved dearly, Beth Tumblin, who was raised in the home, Blake Tumblin, Tyler Hastings, Ashley Jackett and Madison Tumblin, all of Greenwood.
Services will be at 12 noon on Sunday at New Life Baptist Church with the Rev. A. L. "Bud" Tumblin and the church congregation officiating. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Neal Ferqueron, Hunter Ferqueron, Buddy Langley, Steve Dianda, Thomas Hammond and Lee Ferqueron.
The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m.
