Obituary

Beverly Henderson Kelly, 82, of Greenwood, widow of Jewell Lee Kelly, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at her home.

Born in Ware Shoals, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew Henderson and Louise Grant Henderson. Beverly graduated from Ninety Six High School, and she lived a life dedicated to her family, church and community. She worked at Monsanto and later ventured into insurance sales from 1981 to 1988, showcasing her dedication and resilience. However, her most cherished role was that of homemaker, where she found joy in cooking, baking, and nurturing her loved ones. She enjoyed studying her Bible and was a committed and faithful member of the Ninety Six First Baptist Church where she was former teacher of the Ebbie McCarthy Sunday School class for over 24 years and served her church with love and devotion.

Surviving are her children, James Lee Kelly (Neeta Hayden), Wanda Lynn Curtis (Randy) and Steven Scott Kelly (Mary Beth); sister, Robbie Norris (Bobby); grandchildren, Brianna Hammond (Matthew), Kathryn Alexis Kelly (Logan Yates), Brendan Scott Kelly, Leeland Andrew Kelly and Brookelynn Anastasia Kelly; great grandchildren, Gracie Rae Hammond and Everleigh Rhett Hammond; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Ninety Six First Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Sprouse and Rev. Michael How officiating. Burial will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 12:00-1:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be Derrell Lockaby, Rusty Hughes, Houston Matthews, Rick Smith, Larry Wightman, Ray Sanders, Jerry Parnell and Jimmy Brock.

Honorary escorts will be the members of the Ebbie McCarthy Sunday school class.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mission House Fund at Ninety Six First Baptist Church, PO Box 85, Ninety Six, SC 29666.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Hospice and Palliative Care, Kathryn Grace, Clarissa, Lauren, Cheryl along with the CNA's for their compassionate care.
