Bill Ardis, 65, of 67 Mercy Lane, Waterloo, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at his home. Born in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Randall and Eva Geddings Ardis. He had owned and operated Ardis Roofing since 1978, was a former member of Star Fort Golf Club and was a member of First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Randy Ardis (Tara) of Pensacola, FL and James Ardis of Greenwood; two daughters, Susan Poole (Terry) of Salley and Karen Lewis of Waterloo; sister, Hattie Pierson of Sumter; brother, Richard Ardis of Sumter; half sisters, Inez Jacobsen of Silvis, IL and Elise Ardis of West Columbia; half brothers, Gerald �Jerry� Ardis of Lexington and William �Boot� Ardis of Sumter; grandchildren, William Wesley Chandler Ardis, Madison Quinn Ardis, Emma Grace Poole, Karl� Goldman, Eric Goldman, Waylon Ardis, Phoenix Rose Ardis, Kimberly Ardis and Jacob Ardis; (his first great grandchild is expected in January) and former spouses, Betty Ardis of Greenwood and Delores Ardis Whitaker of Ware Shoals. He was preceded in death by half siblings, Thelma Ardis, Clarence Ardis, Charles Ardis, Ray Ardis and Roger Ardis.
