William "Bill " Osborn Rains, 90, of 405 East Durst Ave, widower of Margie Inez Owens Rains, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Oscar and Janie Ruth Davenport Rains. Bill was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII. He was diesel mechanic and was a member of Faith of Christ Evangelist Church. Surviving are son, James "Jimmy " Marvin Rains; daughters, Norma Whitmire (Robert), Patricia Havird (Charles), Brenda Pate, all of Greenwood, Nancy Newman (Marc) of Simpsonville and Betty Bouchillon (Ted) of Anderson; a sister, Shirley Bright of Westminster; a brother, Dewey Rains of Ninety Six; ten grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeff Scott, Hayden Scott, C. J. Scott, Chance Price, Eric Newman, Frankie McGee and Kaden Fallow. The family is at the home.
