William T. Whatley, Jr., 82, of 305 Granny�s Lane, husband of Mary Timmerman Whatley, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late William T. Whatley, Sr. and Lila Bess Nelson Whatley. He was retired from Daniel Construction and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 20. Surviving is his wife of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Neal and Irene Whatley; Tom and Sherri Whatley, all of Greenwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Junior Medley, of Hamptonville, NC; six grandchildren, Linda Tullis, Angie Mitchell, Kevin Whatley, Wanda Capps, Rob Tolbert and Jamie Korrek and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bo Tolbert.
