Billy Ray Burton, 84, of Greenwood, husband of Annette Tripp Burton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at his home.

Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late Inman Elwood "Joe" Burton and Ammie Ruth Smith Burton. He retired from Greenwood County and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Billy was a true outdoorsman, where he found joy in hunting, fishing, and riding around on his lawnmower cutting the grass. Above all he loved his family and treasured all the time he spent with them.

In addition to his wife, Annette, he is survived by his daughter, Lynn B. Carter (Bob); grandchildren, Jason Yingling and Lindsey Carter; great grandchildren, Jay Yingling, Katie Harvley (Ricky), Taylor Yingling, Tyler Yingling, Ashlynn Yingling, and Cody Carter; and great great grandchildren, Key Harvley and Chesnee Harvley.

He preceded in death by a his sister, Marlene Burton Maroney and his brother, Gerald Burton.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating. Burial will be private.
