Obituary

William "Billy" Ernest Clary, 70, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 at his home.

Born on February 27, 1955 in Fort Worth, TX, he was a son of the late Nigel Clary and Frances Virginia Lomax Clary.

Billy spent years dedicated to his craft as a loom fixer at Greenwood Mills, but it was the moments spent outdoors that truly defined him. He loved exploring waterfalls, fishing, and spending quality time in the mountains, always seeking out new sights to experience. Billy also enjoyed woodworking, where he crafted beautiful boats, and playing the guitar. A huge fan of Eric Clapton, he often filled his home with the sounds of his favorite music. Billy found great happiness in the company of his family, especially his grandchildren, always looking forward to family gatherings that brought everyone together.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, symbolizing the spirit of commitment and service. He attended Ninety Six First Baptist Church, where his faith and sense of community grew.

Billy is survived by his children, Tosha Clary and Laylon Clary (Leigh Anne); significant other, Donna Young and her daughter, Chrystal Turner; siblings, Jimmy Clary, Jerry Clary, Angie Farmer, Pam Clary White (Tony), Carmie Edmonds, and the late Stanley Clary; grandchildren, Josh Clary, Hannah Clary, Cassie Clary, Christopher Brooks (Rachel), Kobie Clary, Ryan Clary, and Billy Brewington; great granddaughter, Maggie Brewington; uncle, Raymond Lomax, who was more like a brother; cousin Roger Kennedy; and fur baby, Nichole Lee "Nikki", along with multiple nieces, nephews, family, and friends that he loved and cherished.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service on Thursday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
