Billy Ray Kelley, 77, of 503 Miller Road, Hodges, husband of Gloria Nelson Kelley, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at his home.
Born in Oconee County, he was a son of the late Clyde Bergen Kelley and Louise Knight Kelley. Billy was the retired owner and operator of Kelley's Texaco. He loved racing, woodworking and gardening, but most of all, he loved his grandchildren and spending time with them whenever he could. He was a member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years; his children, Kim Willis (Ernie) of Walterboro, Johnna Tolbert (Curtis) of Greenwood, Jeff Kelley (Jenifer) of Bluffton and Rick Kelley (Sarah) of Hodges; his sister, Faye Ridge (Morris) of Greenwood; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren and one expected in two weeks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Ray Kelley and his brothers, David Kelley, Monroe Kelley and James Kelley.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marty Wiles officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
