William Harrison "Billy" Powell, 80, of 5201 Emerson Street, Hodges, husband of June Dove Powell, died Friday, January 13, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late William Baxter and Orlene Manley Powell. He retired from Greenwood Mills, Plant No. 5 after 42 years of service and served in the US Navy. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class.

Surviving is his wife of the home; his children, Wanda Powell Baldwin (Vance) of Cross Hill, Mark Timothy Powell (Tracy) of Donalds, David Erett (Ann) of Atlanta, GA and Elaine Erett of Goose Creek; a sister, Ellen Chandler of Taylors; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sons, William Harrison Powell, Jr., Alan Erett and Richard Erett.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeramiah Henderson and the Rev. Lamar Babb. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Honorary escort will be men of Providence Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
