Obituary

Billy Thomas Waldrop, 70, husband of Linda Taylor Waldrop, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at his home in Greenville. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Dwight and Mamie Lee Cox Waldrop. He was in the US Army for 22 years, serving during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a retired Assistant Chief of Police in McCormick and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his wife; daughters, Belisa W. Horne of Plum Branch and Maria Crowder of Daytona Beach, FL; stepdaughters, Dana Haynes of Greenville and Renee Hood of Travelers Rest; stepson, Robin Hood of Greenville; sister, Elizabeth Hines of Greenville; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Mummah Waldrop and a stepson, Carl Wayne Hood.
