Obituary

Martin Bishop "Bish" Berry, 87 of Ninety Six, husband of Ann Anderson Berry, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024, at his home.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Martin Alonzo Berry and Vera Mae Hasting Berry. Bish was a US Army veteran and retired from Fortner Motor Company. He also worked at the packing plant for several years and was known as the "Meat Man". He was a beloved husband of 64 years, known for his love of family, deer hunting, watching NASCAR Racing, swinging on his porch swing, and tending to his yard by cutting grass and blowing leaves. Bish was a member of Beacon of Hope Worship Center.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Tammy L. Berry; and a brother George Berry.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his daughter, Vickie B. Whittle; sisters, Nora Lee Hepler, Emma Mae Edwards, Melba Morgan (Bill), Debbie Gillion and Sheila Rodgers (Homer); sister-in-law, Barbara Berry; and his god grandchildren, Summer Smith, Skylar Parker and Conner Smith.

Services will be held at 3pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Beacon of Hope Worship Center, 2391 Pheasant Road, Ninety Six, SC 29666, with the Rev. Charles Clark and Rev. Kile Antone officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 1-3pm.
